Wilson Kane wins a fortune and his future bride at a game of dice from the former pirate Balthasar. Ohhh, I see why it doesn't affect Ahr. Since Circe works with scents, and Nicoli (I presume) works for her, the necklace was filled with a potion of some sort that would alter their perception of her through scent. Since Ahr has no scent since his tongue is cut out, he could always see her how she really was. This will be helpful, in the future...
